Guest: John Hamilton, contributor to television and radio program "Democracy Now."
Topics: Glenn Beck and his influence on a recent shootout by Byron Williams this past July in the Bay area.
From the intro:
Hello and welcome to The Daily Briefing, I’m Ian Masters and today we will look into a breaking story in the news with the reporter who exposed the connection between Glenn Beck and a heavily armed gunman who shot two California Highway Patrol officers in a furious gun battle before surrendering.
John Hamilton, a reporter with KPFA, our sister station in Berkeley, joins us to elaborate on the prison interview he did with the shooter Byron Williams who was on his way to shoot up the Tides Foundation and the ACLU in San Francisco when he was pulled over by the CHP. In the prison interview with John Hamilton, Byron Williams makes it abundantly clear that Glenn Beck was his teacher and he was acting on “evidence” provided by Beck from the 29 broadcasts on Fox News where Glenn Beck cited the Tides Foundation as a part of a socialist conspiracy involving George Soros, BP, a Brazilian oil company and President Obama.
John Hamilton has, for the first time, connected the important dots that tie a heavily armed killer on a homicidal mission with the persons in the media on Fox News who have incited him to violence.
